I have always been a machine appliqué
aficionado, then I learned how to needle
felt and I was off and running in a different
direction. The Crazy Sheep was designed
from my Woolly Sheep pattern which came
out in 1998. I had bought many different
wool remnants in 1999. About 6 years later,
I started to appliqué sheep crazy
quilt style on the suiting weight wools.
I wanted to know what sheep looked like
in pin stripes. Then I put the project away
until 2007 when I became interested in felting.
Whoa, the textures you can achieve! Add
some hand embroidery, and you really have
something exciting. The pattern for the
sheep appliqués is sold separately
from the pattern for the Crazy Sheep in
case sheep are not your favorites. We have
lots of other animal themes you could choose.
The Crazy Sheep pattern shows you how to
make all the details of this crazy quilt,
how to felt raw edge stitched animal appliqués
and trees and how to embroider flowers by
hand and make portraits for the cornerstones.
The Crazy Sheep comes as a PDF file because
there are so many photographs.
